From May 9 until June 9, 2025, the Federazione delle associazioni molisane del Quebec, in collaboration with the Istituto italiano di culturaLibrissimi Toronto and Associazione Casacalendese di Montreal, presents Primavera Molisana, a series of events designed to celebrate the cultural, natural, and artistic richness of the Molise region of Italy.

The program includes two film screenings, a concert and a panel discussion.

On May 9, 2025, the Federation presents Molise my home: Lino Rufo canta Giose Rimanelli, featuring Italian singer-songwriter Lino Rufo performing the works of Molisan poet and novelist Giose Rimanelli at the Leonardo da Vinci Centre in St-Leonard.

On May 21, 2025, the Istituto italiano di cultura in Montreal will host A vije du Molise: Molise’s dialect through linguistics, history, and poetry, a panel discussion between Professor Dario Brancato from Concordia University and Jordan Black, moderated by Cassandra Marsillo. A vije du Molise, meaning “the road to Molise,” comes from a poem by Giose Rimanelli. In this panel, Brancato and Black will discuss the place of dialects in Italy from a linguistic and historical point of view, with a special focus on the context of Molise and the use of dialect in literary works.

Then on May 26, 2025, the Istituto will screen the 2020 film, Volevo Nascondermi, written and directed by Giorgio Diritti. The film stars Molisan actor Elio Germano as Italian painter and sculptor Antonio Ligabue. Toni, the son of an Italian emigrant, rejected in Italy from Switzerland where he spent a difficult childhood and adolescence, lives for years in a hut on the river, never giving in to loneliness, cold and hunger.

Finally, also at the Istituto, on June 9, 2025, a special screening of Molise Tropic Felice (2023), written and directed by Luigi Grispello. In this surreal and anthropological documentary, four villages, in one of the smallest regions of Italy, resist the contemporary world in their own ways. The documentary is in Italian with French subtitles.
